Services for Lawrence M. Cook, 87, of Arlington, who died September 24, 1995 at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 27 at the Arlington Community Church in Arlington. Rev. Lee J. Milligan will officiate. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

Lawrence M. Cook was born January 2, 1908 at Arlington. He grew up in the rural Arlington area and graduated from Arlington High School in 1925.

He was a farmer and livestockman in rural Arlington for more than 50 years. He retired in 1985 and moved to A. J. Merrick Manor in January 1991.

He was a member of the Arlington Community Church and the Papio Soil Conservation District. He was a former 4-H Club leader and a member of the Over 60 Center in Arlington.

He married Ruie M. Thompson November 5, 1930 in Blair. She preceded him in death March 28, 1992.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Cortez and Amy Krajicek Cook and brother, Raymond Cook and William Cook.

He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Shirley Cook of Nickerson; Leslie and Ida Cook of McKinney, Texas; Dr. Kenneth and Denise Cook of Sidney and Dr. David and Anita Cook of Omaha; one brother, Joe Cook of Arlington; two sisters, Mabel (Mrs. Elmer) Scheer of Fremont and Norma (Mrs. Wendell) Wolles of Mission, Texas; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Becker, LeRoy Dunklau, Michael Cook, Daniel Cook, Brian Cook and Guy Cook.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Thompson, Dr. Greg Thompson, Frank Braun, Jerome Sperling, Tom Monke and Robert Pfeiffer.

Memorials may be directed to the Arlington Community Church or the Over 60 Center in Arlington.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
