Funeral services were held last Saturday, September 30th for Amanda Elizabeth Sorensen Cooley of Sioux City, Nebraska, who passed away at her home on Thursday morning at the age of 72. Her death was attributed to a stroke.

The services were held in Tekamah with interment in the Kennard Cemetery.

Mrs. Cooley was the former Amanda Johnson, born April 12, 1889 at Kennard, Nebraska. She spent the first years of her life in this community and was a member of the Lutheran Church.

She was united in marriage to Soren C. Sorensen in 1912. To this union one child, Gladys, was born. They resided on a farm at Herman, Nebraska for six years, then moved to a farm near Tekamah, Nebraska, where they resided until the death of her husband in 1935.

After that she moved to Sioux City, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Clifford Cooley in 1950. They resided at their farm near South Sioux City, Nebraska until the time of her death.

Mrs. Cooley is survived by her husband, Clifford, one daughter, Mrs. Everett Fowler (Gladys); two grandsons, Louis and Charles Fowler and two great-grandsons. Preceding her in death were Soren Sorenson, her parents, a sister, Mrs. Olevia Sorensen and a brother, Harry T. Johnson of Kennard.

Pallbearers were Everett, Louis, and Charles Fowler, Kenneth F. Jensen, Elmer Thone, Jr., and Harry Svogerson.
