FORMER COUNTY MAN DIES AT AGE 78

Funeral services were held Monday, December 5, for Chester C. Aronson, 78, at First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah. He died Friday, December 2.

Chester Clair Aronson was born in Washington County August 27, 1905, to John and Judith Aronson.

He married Florence Elizabeth McDonald October 20, 1926, and the couple had five children: Robert W. of Tekamah, Lila A. Rapier of Covington, Louisiana, Joan A. Connealy of Tekamah, Bill D. of Overland Park, Kansas, and Donna A. Donelan of Des Moines, Iowa.

Chet lived and farmed in Washington County until 1940 when he moved with his wife and family to Tekamah to establish an auto repair business and an auto and truck dealership. He remained in the business for 29 years before retiring in July, 1969, due to illness.

Aronson was an active member of Tekamah Lions Club and Tekamah Chamber of Commerce. He was baptized at First Presbyterian Church of Tekamah and served as a member of the Board of Trustees for a three-year term.

Surviving him are his wife; children; sister, Emily Crawford of Mesa, Arizona; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Clayton and Everett.

Officiating at the 10:30 a.m. service was Rev. Rob Craig. Music was provided by Richard Nelsen, soloist, and Mrs. Stewart Kindler, organist.

Burial was at Blair Cemetery.
