Former Blair resident Lois L. Cooper, 87, died Sunday, April 10, 2005 in her home at Noel, Mo.

Funeral services were Wednesday, April 13, in the Ozark Funeral Home Chapel in Noel. Interment will follow at a later date in the Blair Cemetery in Blair.

Lois Leininger Cooper was born April 21, 1917, in Valparaiso to Remington James and Mary Alice (Leininger) Tennant. She was raised in Wahoo and graduated from Wahoo High School in the class of 1933. She attended the Lutheran Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha.

On October 10, 1942, she married William Anthony Cooper in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

For 25 years she was employed by the Lutheran Immanuel Hospital as a registered nurse, retiring in 1982. The Coopers made their home in Blair for several years until Mr. Cooper’s death in September 1982. In October of 1982, Mrs. Cooper decided to move to Noel, Mo., to be closer to her daughter, Mary. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Southwest City United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery projects, making jewelry, and volunteering at the Noel W.I.C. office.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Louise and Gene Rosenbohm, of Noel, Mo., and Jean Lorene and Walter Watts of St. Marie, Mont.; a step-daughter, Charlotte Juanita Glaser of Blair; 19 grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Vera Mann of Seal Beach, Calif.; as well as a host of other family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shirley Glaser; a grandson-in-law, Mike Hanke; three sisters, Helen Burns, Marjorie Proctor, and Lorene Falke; and a brother, Ross Tennant. Funeral leaflet:
