BLAIR WOMAN’S SISTER BURIED AT TEKAMAH

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 19, at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah for Genie Allely, who died February 17, 1981, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Rev. Ralph Ford conducted the services. Burial was at the Tekamah Cemetery.

Genevieve Laura Allely, daughter of George and Elyda Allely, was born June 2, 1945. She graduated from Tekamah High School as valedictorian of the Class of 1963.

She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in 1967. After working at the University of Nebraska library, she completed her masters degree in English in 1971. Her studies included teaching at the Junior College of Norfolk.

She was a member of the Tekamah Methodist Church and was active in its youth group and junior choir.

She was active in helping plan the new addition to the Tekamah United Methodist Church and was instrumental in the drive to gain the growing membership in the Tekamah area of the Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary. She worked actively in Auxiliary’s bib project for newborn babies, was in charge of the hospital bulletin board project and worked with the Colo-rectal screening project in the Tekamah area.

She is survived by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. G.F. Allely of Tekamah; two brothers and their families, Dr. Donald Allely of Greeley, Colorado and Dr. John Allely of Fremont; and one sister and her family, Mrs. Charles (Carole) Bagby of Blair.

Music was provided by Tom DiGiorgio, vocalist, and Mrs. Elmer Sells, organist.

Pallbearers were her nephews, David Bagby, Richard Bagby, Steven Allely, Craig Allely, Jach Allely, and a cousin, David Stock.

Honorary pallbearers were nephews Kim Allely, Eric Allely and Jeffrey Bagby.

Memorials may go to the building fund for the new Tekamah United Methodist Church Addition and the Blair Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary.
