Mrs. Mary E. Sutton died at 1:40 Sunday morning of old age, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ben Sheffield, and the funeral was held at the Methodist church at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon, Rev. Lang officiating. Deceased was born in Washington County, Va., and was 73 years, 5 months and 17 days old at the time of her death. She was married in 1853 and her husband died about 17 years ago. After his death, she came west and has lived around with the children. They are Mrs. Ben Sheffield, Mrs. John Nelson, Mrs. R. L. Stalkup, C.R. and Walter Sutton in this county; two sons in Oklahoma; and one daughter and two sons in Virginia.

Mary E. Sutton died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. F. Sheffield, five miles south of Blair, at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 21 days. She was born in Washington county, Va., Dec. 14, 1836, and at the age of 16 was married to John W. Sutton at Abington. To this union fourteen children were born, and of them, ten children and twenty-two grandchildren survive her. Two sons and one daughter live in Virginia; two sons in Oklahoma; one daughter in Colorado; and two sons and two daughters here. The funeral was held Monday at 3 o’clock and the body interred in the Blair cemetery.
