Donald C. Lottman, 75, of Arlington, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at Blair Memorial Community Hospital.

Services were Saturday, July 31, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. The Rev. Dr. Michael L. Rogers officiated.

A military graveside service was conducted by members of VFW Post 8332 and American Legion Post 71 of Arlington. Burial was in St. Paul’s cemetery in Arlington.

Donald C. Lottman was born May 6, 1924 to Carl H. and Frieda (Scheer) Lottman in rural Arlington.

A lifetime resident of the Arlington area, he attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and Bisbee School in rural Arlington.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from Aug. 30, 1945 to Jan. 1, 1947, and attained the rank of sergeant.

On Oct. 9, 1949, he married Anne Marie Vogt at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. He farmed in the Arlington area until his retirement in 1986.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department; the V.F.W. Post 8332 of Arlington; and belonged to the American Legion Post 71 for more than 50 years.

He held several local, district and state offices, commanded the Arlington Firing Squad for several years; served on the ASCS Board for more than 40 years and received the Papio Valley Conservation Award.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie; two sons and daughters-in-law, Delbert and Nancy Lottman of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Myron and Pamela Lottman of Chicago, Ill.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Randy Rogers and Cynthia and Steven Deutsch, all of Wichita, Kan.; sister and brother-in-law, Doris Mae and Leonard Lauritsen of Arlington; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington or the American Legion Post 71 of Arlington.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
