BERT E. LOWE SERVICES TUESDAY
Funeral services were held in Herman Tuesday afternoon for Bert E. Lowe, former Herman resident, who had died Friday at Mesa, Arizona. He was 64 years of age.
Albert E. Lowe was born May 8, 1901 at Seward, Nebraska. He moved with his family to the Herman vicinity four years later and spent the balance of his active life there. He was the son of the late Forrest and Bertha Lowe. He lived in the Herman vicinity until 1952.
On February 26th, 1926, he was married to Miss Lucille Raver and they lived on a farm near Herman. Later they operated a drug store in Herman, moving in 1952 to Yucaipa, California, where they had a ranch. For the past four years they have lived in Mesa, Arizona.
Mr. Lowe was a member of the Herman Baptist Church and a member of Landmark Lodge No. 222, A.F. & A.M. He had served as Worthy Patron of Herman chapter No. 216, Order of Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; two sons, Lt. Forrest Dean, now serving in the Navy at Puerto Rico; and Virgil Gordon Lowe of Huntsville, Alabama; one daughter, Leah, Mrs. William Cameron of Herman; and seven grandchildren. Three brothers survive. They are Gordon F. and August H. of Herman; Stanley R. of Sun City, Arizona; and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Richter of Glendale, California.
Masonic funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Herman Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Percy Bruns officiating. Burial was made in the Herman Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary of Blair. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Goll, Mrs. Gene Husk at the piano.
Pallbearers were Gene Husk, Fred Guyer, Clifford Larsen, Howard Laughlin, Kenneth Wachter and Leo Chamberlain.
Attending the services from a distance were Lt. Forrest Lowe and family; Virgil Lowe and family. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lowe accompanied Mrs. Bert Lowe from Mesa, Arizona. Mrs. Pearl Richter of Arizona was here also.
