WILBUR LOWE DIES IN BLAIR

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church for Wilbur (Cotton) Lowe, 87, who died in Memorial Community Hospital in Blair on July 11, 1982.

The Rev. Jess Hansen will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Wilbur Lowe was born in Herman on February 9, 1895 to James D. and Emma (Lowe) Lowe. He married Helen Scheffler.

He was a retired mail carrier in Herman. He had also worked on the Blair Bridge.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Herman and a member of the Herman Fire Department. A World War I veteran, he was a charter member of the Herman American Legion and a past member of the 40 & 8.

He was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, Blair; one brother, Paul Lowe, Hutchinson, Minnesota; and four sisters, Mrs. Grace Hancock, Blair; Mrs. Ruth Conety, Herman; Mrs. Dorothy Cranor, Blair; and Mrs. Arwilda Uehling, Uehling, Nebraska.

Pallbearers will be Brian Conety, Wilbur Conety, Alfred Jaenike, Glen Miller, Russel Uehling and Steven Uehling.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
