Arlyn "Ole" Olson, 54, of Craig, died on Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at Oakland Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland with the Rev. Jim Munson officiating.

Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland with a prayer service at 7 p.m.Visitation will continue Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

Arlyn "Ole" Olson was born April 4, 1944, to Carol and Ollie (Lundvall) Olson.

He lived most of his life in the Craig area. He graduated from Oakland High School in 1962.

He moved to Omaha and worked for Gate City Steel, where he helped to build the Woodman Tower.

In 1966, he married Vikki Strand and they lived near Craig where he farmed for almost 20 years. The couple had four children: Misti, David, Teresa and Mike.

In 1985, after a fire destroyed his farm home, he moved to Tekamah. He was employed for 13 years as a truck driver for Tekamah Redi Mix, now Arps Redi Mix.

On Sept. 9, 1995, he married Charlotte Galardo at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland, and her four children were added to the family.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking for his family and friends. He was espcially known for his baked beans, barbecue and famous deep-fried turkeys.

He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Oakland. He was also a member of the Craig and the Tekamah Fire and Rescue Departments.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte of Craig; daughters and sons-in-law, Misti and Dan Johnson of Craig and Teresa and Kirk Kisicki of Omaha; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Michelle Olson of Blair and Mike and Tiffany Olson of Tekamah; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Tammy Galardo of Dunkirk, N.Y. and Anthony and Marci Galardo of Columbia, S.C.; two stepdaughers and son-in-law, Vikke and Bob Ford of Chandler, Ariz., and Denyell Galardo of Charlottesville, Va.; 16 grandchildren and several cousins.

Memorials are suggested to the Craig Fire and Rescue Department or the Tekamah Fire and Rescue Department.

Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
