Mildred Marie Clausen Lantefield, 91

Mildred Marie Clausen Lantefield, 91, of Fremont, NE, died Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Crowell Home in Blair, NE.

The funeral service will be 11:30 AM, Thursday, August 13, 2015, at First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Fremont. The Rev. David Paul will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, 4 PM to 8 PM with family receiving friends from 5 PM to 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Eastern Star Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation at church on Thursday 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be 2:45 PM on Thursday at Fort Calhoun Cemetery in Fort Calhoun.

Mildred was born February 18, 1924, at Fort Calhoun, NE, to George and Ida “Rica” (Hinz) Ohrt. She spent her first 19 years living in Fort Calhoun, NE, and graduated from Fort Calhoun High School. Mildred married Ralph Clausen February 21, 1943, at Fort Calhoun. They moved to Arlington, NE, and lived in the area for 43 years. Ralph preceded her in death on April 20, 1980.

Mildred married Verl Lantefield September 29, 1984 in Arlington. He preceded her in death December 14, 1994. She moved to Fremont where she lived for several years and in April of 2014, moved to the Crowell Home in Blair.

Mildred was a member of First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Fremont and held various church offices. She was a former member of Arlington Community Church, U.C.C. in Arlington. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she held many offices. She was a 4-H leader, and volunteered for the Fremont Hospital Auxiliary. Mildred belonged to several card clubs, she enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening and baking cookies. Mildred spent several years working visitations at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Her favorite thing in life was spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Mildred is survived by sons Sydney (Janice) Clausen of Arlington, NE, and Lonny (Anne) Clausen of Missouri Valley, Iowa; daughter, Debra Ann (Larry) Christensen of New York City, New York; step-son, John Lantefield of Crete, NE; step-daughter, Janice (Charles) Vopalensky of North Bend, NE; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Lantefield of Fremont and Shirley Von Seggern of Hooper, NE; 11 grandchildren; 3 stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Morgan; brothers, Stanley and wife, Dorothy Ohrt and Alvin and wife, Clara Ohrt; and granddaughter, Alexa Christensen.
