Frank Bahner, 88, Orchard Operator, Died At Hooper

Funeral services were held for Frank Bahner, 88, who died at the Hooper Nursing Home. Mr. Bahner, well-known in the area as proprietor of Fontanelle Orchards, had lived in Fontanelle on Highway 91 for over twenty years. Apple lovers for many miles came to get their apples and cider and to visit with Frank year after year. He was born in Pennsylvania and had farmed near Nickerson nearly 50 years.

He was married to Florence Haven, February 14, 1906. She died in October 6, 1952. He and Ethel Crocher were married at Fontanelle June 1, 1953. She died February 16 this year. He is survived by one son, Vernon, and a sister, Jessie Ehninger both of Nickerson. The Rev. Jackson Sherwood officiated at the services with burial in Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joel and David Niebaum, Ray Janssen, Ervin Schrein, Fred Hetrick and William Liston.
