Mary Ann Barton Died Friday

Mary Ann Barton, daughter of the late Solomon and Elizabeth Barton, passed away at the Blair Convalescent Home last Friday, October 22nd. She was 81 years of age.

The deceased was born in Edgewood, Illinois, January 1st, 1873. When four years of age she came with her parents to Nebraska in a covered wagon and the family settled in Washington County where she lived until her death.

She is survived by two sisters, Lydia Pixley, of Ainsworth, Nebraska and Mrs. Esther Nelson, of Blair and one brother, Lester Barton, also of Blair. She leaves a large number of nieces and nephews. Four brothers and two sisters had preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon, with the Rev. J.D. Johnson conducting the service. Five nephews and a cousin served as pall bearers. Interment was made at the Blair cemetery.
