Services for Mildred Cox, 61, who died June 30, 1985, in the Good Shepherd Home in Blair, will be Wednesday, July 3, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Norman Schroeder will officiate and burial will be in the Herman Cemetery. Prayer service will be at the Campbell Funeral Home Tuesday at 7:20 p.m.

Mrs. Cox was born July 1, 1923, the daughter of Henry and Clara Hollman of Creston. She married Max Cox Aug. 6, 1941 in Albion.

She is survived by her husband of rural Omaha, three sons, Daryl of Bennington, Duane of Omaha and Thomas of Albuquerque, N. M.; two sisters, Mrs. John (Emily) Moeller of Columbus, and Mrs. Allen (Myrtle) Cain of Montrose, Calif.; four brother, Floyd of Fullerton, John of Fallbrook Calif., Eugene of Kerville, Texas, and Henry of Fallbrook, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Lnenicka, Merlin Moeller, Larry Settgest, William Lehr, Don Evans and Darrell Hollman.

Honorary pallbearers are Floyd Hollman, Henry Hollman, John Hollman, Eugene Hollman, Daryl Lynn Cox and Matthew Cox.

Verna Kneip will be the organist and vocalist will be Joyce Johnson.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Services for Mildred Elvira Hollmann Cox were held at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bennington on Wednesday, July 3. Dr. Norman Schroeder officiated. Verna Kneip was organist and Joyce Johnson sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “How Great Thou Art.” Casket Bearers were: Darrell Dean Hollmann, Merlin Moeller, Larry Settgest, Clyde Lnenicka, Don Evans, and William Lehr. Honorary Casket Bearers were grandsons-Daryl Lynn and Matthew Cox, and brothers-Eugene, John, Henry, and Floyd Hollmann. Interment was in the Herman Cemetery and the Campbell Mortuary of Blair was in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Elvira Hollmann Cox was born July 1, 1923 on a farm near Creston, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Henry and Clara (Brock) Hollmann. She attended the schools of Boone County, Nebraska and graduated from the 8th grade there.

She became a child of God by Holy Baptism at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Platte County, Nebraska on July 29, 1923. She confirmed that faith at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, Nebraska on July 12, 1936.

Mildred was united in marriage to Max Darwin Cox at Zion Lutheran Church, Albion, Nebraska on August 6, 1941. Three sons were born to this union.

Since March 6, 1960, Mildred has been a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Bennington. She was a member of the Lutheran Church Women and gladly participated in supporting the activities of the church.

Mildred was a devoted wife, a meticulous homemaker, a loving mother, and a friendly neighbor. She was a member of the Irvington Happy Hour Extension Club since 1957.

Following a long, lingering illness, she died while a resident of the Good Shepherd Home in Blair on Sunday, June 30, at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 29 days. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Leonard Hollman and one sister, Emma Settgest.

Mildred is survived by her husband, Max; three sons and daughters-in-law, Daryl and Carole Cox of Bennington, Duane and Peggy Cox of Omaha, Thomas and Ulla Cox of Albuquerque, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Daryl Lynn and Matthew Cox, and Sandy and Jolene Cox; two sisters, Emily (Mrs. John) Moeller of Columbus, Nebraska and Myrtle (Mrs. Allen) Cain of Montrose, Colorado; four brother, Eugene Hollmann of Kerville, Texas, John Hollmann of Fallbrook, California, Henry Hollmann, of Fallbrook, California, and Floyd Hollmann of Fullerton, Nebraska; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
