Services for John Coyle, 87, who died at his Blair home Feb. 15, 1997, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Dunlap, Iowa.

John Francis Coyle was born Dec. 22, 1909 at Council Bluffs, Iowa to John and Mary Dailey Coyle. He lived in Rapid City, SD, Omaha, and Los Angeles before moving to Blair in 1972.

He retired as manager from the Voss Grocery Company in Los Angeles after working for them for 25 years.

He served in the Army during World War II, entering the military in 1943. He was discharged in 1945.

He was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Third Degree Council No. 10412 and Untied Food and Commercial Workers Union No. 770.

He married Helen Hawn in Los Angeles Jan. 20, 1938.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold James and Donald and a twin sister, Mary Coyle.

He is survived by his wife, Helen and a sister, Katherine Hord, Arcadia, Calif.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
