Faye B. Stuenkel, 84

Services for Faye B. Stuenkel, 84, of Fremont who died January 17, 1996 at A.J. Merrick Manor were Saturday, January 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. David Loeschen officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Faye B. Stuenkel was born May 8, 1911 in Freeman, South Dakota to Carl and Minnie Boeker Bahle. She moved to the Fremont area with her family in 1928, having spent some of her childhood years in Carter Oak, Iowa. She graduated from Fremont High School.

She married Elmer Stuenkel February 6, 1934 in Fremont. They farmed north of Fremont all their married life. In addition to managing the family farm, she had worked as a legal secretary, the head bookkeeper of Dodge County Hospital and the office manager of Bahner College of Hairstyling.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir and the bell choir for many years. She was president of Altrusa in 1980-81, a member of Credit Women International and was the Credit Woman of the Year for the Fremont Chapter in 1984. She was also a member of the American Association of Hospital Accounts and was a volunteer at the Fremont Care Center.

In addition to her husband, Elmer, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wilfred.

She is survived by a son, Rodney Stuenkel of Fremont; seven grandchildren: Cindy, Robert, Ronald, Scott, Patrick, Randy and Suzy; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lorna (Mrs. Alvin) Tiemann of Greeley, Colorado and Darlene (Mrs. Dick) Hepperly of Concordia, Kansas; two brothers and their wives: M.C. and Mildred Bahle of St. Louis, Missouri, and Jeanette Bahle of Omaha.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
