Howard W. Stuenkel, 82

Howard W. Stuenkel, of Rt. 2, Herman, died Saturday at Hooper Care Center. He was born April 27, 1906 in Washington County, where he grew up on the family farm.

He was married on June 26, 1930 to Emma (Benjes) at Immanuel Lutheran Church at (rural) Hooper. They farmed the same farm in Burt County for all their married years.

His wife Emma died in November 1943.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Laymen’s League.

Survivors: daughter, Mrs. Berkely (Marian) Wolf, Arlington; son-in-law, George C. Mick Mcinnis* of Nickerson, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are: 2 sisters: Esther Pawling and Ida Stuenkel, both of Hooper.

He was preceded in death by his wife Emma; daughter, Lila J. McGinnis*; 2 brothers: Harry and Walter.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Hooper. Minister was Rev. Rodney Meske.

Burial was in Imm. Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the church.
