Mrs. Chris Nelson Rites Friday

Mrs. Chris Nelson died Monday evening at her home on North Walker Avenue, at the age of 57 years, 7 months, and 7 days.

Emma Rasmussen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Rasmussen was born May 29, 1890 at Orum. At the age of 7 she moved to Blair with her parents. She was baptized and confirmed at Orum. She attended Blair City Schools. She was married on May 25, 1910 to Chris Nelson and resided on a farm in the Orum vicinity for 28 years, then moved to Blair and has resided there since. Mrs. Nelson had suffered from arthritis for the past 13 years and had been unable to walk for the last 7 years. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Chris, and 2 children, Harland Nelson of Blair and Mrs. Helen Holstein of Alta, Iowa. Three grandsons, Donald and Roger Nelson, and Ronald Holstein Two sisters, Mrs. Laura Hinkley of Blair, and Mrs. Mary Jensen of Denver, Colorado, one brother Chris Rasmussen of Blair. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and 2:00 at the First Lutheran Church. Interment will be made in the Orum Cemetery. The Bendorf Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements and Rev H. C Jorgensen, Pastor of the First Lutheran Church has charge of the service.
