Arthur H. Krohn, 91

Arthur H. Krohn, 91, of Winslow, died on Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hooper. The Rev. Carl Lehmann will officiate.

Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Visitation will be held from 2 until 9 p.m. at Warner-Johnson Funeral Home in Hooper.

Arthur H. Krohn was born on July 24, 1909, on the family farm in Winslow to John and Alvina (Beerman) Krohn. He attended Dist. 85 grade school in Winslow, and graduated from Hooper High School in 1927. Mr. Krohn lived on the farm his entire lifetime, and was active in farming until the time of his death.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hooper where he had served as an Elder and held many of the church’s offices. He was a past member of the Winslow Volunteer Fire Department, and served on the Dist. 85 school board.

On Dec. 25, 1937, he married Wilma L. Scheer at the First Lutheran Church in Omaha.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Janie Krohn of Yankton, S.D., and a daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Gerald Rathjen of Henderson, Nev.; a brother, Walter Krohn of Fremont; two sisters, Norma Schole of Hooper and Selma Scheer of Arlington; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; four brothers and a sister.

Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour.

Warne-Johnson Funeral Home in Hooper is in charge of arrangements.
