Wilma L. Krohn, 80

Services were Wednesday. April 10 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Hooper for Wilma L. Krohn, 80 of rural Hooper, who died April 7, 1996 at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Wilma L. Krohn was born September 25, 1915 in rural Arlington to Fred and Wilma Schormann Scheer.

She graduated from Arlington High School in 1933 and attended one year of college at Wayne State College. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from Doane College in 1937.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hooper and their Ladies Aide.

She and Arthur Krohn were married December 25, 1937 at First Lutheran Church in Omaha by Dr. Acker.

They moved to a farm east of Winslow after their marriage. She had lived in Arlington prior to that time.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Alfred, Otis, Gehardt and Oscar and a sister, Helen Geisler.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Janie Krohn of Yankton, South Dakota; a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Gerald Rathjen of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Wallace Scheer of Fremont and Obert Scheer of Arlington; three sisters, Esther Grebe of Fremont; Frieda Walkenhorst of Fremont and Lilly Krohn of Fremont; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Douglas Krohn, Thomas Rathjen, Zachary Krohn, Jeffrey Krohn, Tim Schafersman and Ben Scholle.

Virginia Meyer was organist.

Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church or The Lutheran Hour.

Warne-Johnson Funeral Home in Hooper was in charge of arrangements.
