Kenneth E. Kronberg Sr., 73

Kenneth E. Kronberg Sr., 73, of Fremont, died Sunday, June 5, 2005, at Beverly Hallmark Health Care in Omaha.

Graveside services with military honors were Thursday, June 9, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blair.

Kenneth E. Kronberg was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Denison, Iowa, to Elmer and Florence (Rox) Kronberg. He grew up in Denison, and joined the military service in 1952, serving in both the Army and the Navy. He was awarded the United Nations Service Medals, a Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medals, and a Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Fremont Color Guard.

On May 31, 1957, he married Matilda Johnson at Grace Lutheran Church in Swedeburg. The couple then moved to Fremont. Mr. Kronberg had worked in the restaurant business all his life and, for the past 12 years, at San Ann Pizza in Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Matilda; two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew and Carrie Kronberg of Omaha and Kenneth Jr. and Shelly Kronberg of Fremont, three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Kronberg, Marjorie Kronberg, and Brenda and Joe Storms, all of Fremont; eight grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Maxine and Myron Benck of Fremont and Barbara Chamberlin of Hooper.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial has been established at Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont.
