Margaret Bellman, 86

Memorial services will be held Friday, January 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Faulkton, South Dakota for Margaret V. Bellman, age 86, who died at Crowell Home January 1, 1993. She had been a resident of Crowell since November 1, 1992, having moved from New Castle Retirement Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Margaret V. Jones was born on August 8, 1906 at Cresbard, South Dakota to Griff and Margaret Pugh Jones. She attended elementary school at Cresbard and later attended Wessington Springs Junior College where she qualified for a South Dakota teaching certificate. She later attended Northern State Teachers College.

She taught elementary school in Faulk County for many years prior to becoming the county superintendent of schools in Faulk County. She retired in 1968.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, The Tuesday Club, and First United Methodist Church.

She married Myron Oleson in 1925. In June, 1944, she married Everett Bellman. He preceded her in death in October, 1984.

In 1985, Margaret moved to Omaha, Nebraska to be close to her son Gale, a professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert and one sister, Ruth.

Surviving her in death are her son and daughter-in-law, Gale and Kathy Oleson, Blair, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Dr. Rev. Margaret Oleson, Forest Grove, Oregon; Dr. Dorothy Oleson, Atlanta, Georgia; Joyce Livingston-Cook, Floral City, Florida and Elizabeth Draper, Omaha, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Tom Livingston, Retta Draper and Eva Draper and one sister, Isabelle Lipscomb, Silverdale, Washington.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
