Obituary #1 The Pilot, 29 Oct 1924

Nels Anderson Bergman died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ingri Vannoy, at 12:30 p. m. Monday of old age he being past 86 years. He had been sick for the past six years and bedfast for two years. The funeral will be held at Swaberg, Neb., at 2 o’clock tomorrow, Thursday, Rev. Benson officiating.

Mr. Bergman was born in Sweden September 16th, 1838, and came to this country in 1881, settling in Burt County. His wife died there in 1901 and the next year he came to this county to make his home with his daughter.

He is survived by three children, Mrs. Herman Abraham, of Laramie, Wyoming, Nels Bergman, of Midvale, Utah, and Mrs. Vannoy, of this city. There are 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The death of Nels Anderson Bergman occurred Monday, Oct 27, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ingri Vannoy, 207 East Park Street, after a long illness, the past two years of which he has been confined to bed.

The deceased was born in Sweden, September 16, 1838 and came to the United States in 1881, settling in Burt County, Nebraska. His wife died in 1901.

Besides Mrs. Vannoy, he leaves one son, Nels Bergman of Midvale, Utah and another daughter, Mrs. Herman Abraham of Laramie Wyoming. Also eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Swaberg, Nebraska today, Thursday 30, with Rev. Benson officiating and interment will be made in the Swaberg Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Abraham of Laramie came in this week for the funeral as did Arthur Vannoy, son of Mrs. Ingri Vannoy, who lives at Grand Island.
