Former Washington County resident Maxine E. Benck, 78 of Fremont, died Sunday, April 1, 2007.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.

Maxine Ellen (Kronberg) Benck was born Jan. 17, 1929, in Dennison, Iowa, to Elmer and Florence (Roy) Kronberg.

She was a member of the Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont, and was an active member of the Get Together Extension Club for more than 50 years.

She is survived by her husband, Myron, of Fremont; daughter, Joyce Koranda of Wahoo; son Duane Benck of Lincoln; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Chamberlain of Hooper; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth.

Memorials are suggested to the family or to MDS Leukemia Research.
