Services were Tuesday, May 23 at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska for Carl Bender, 89 who died May 20, 1995. Burial was in the Seward Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Helen and a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Sandra (Sandy) Bender, formerly owners of the Blair Maple Café in Blair and now of Gardena California; daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma and Richard Kehler of Lincoln and Violet and Edward Huning, Florissant, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Richard Schultz, Seward; a sister-in-law, Florence Bender of Seward; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Volzke Mortuary in Seward.
