Funeral services for Larry Spangler age 68 of Blair, NE will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner, NE. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Larry passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair, NE.

Larry Leon Spangler was born on December 11, 1946, at West Point, NE to Bob and Donna (Hyland) Spangler. He was baptized on December 15, 1946. Larry attended rural school in Cuming County. He was employed at Norfolk Rendering for several years. Larry had been residing in Blair, NE for the last several years.

Larry had a fascination with semi tractors, whether he was collecting toy versions of them or visiting with drivers any chance he could. This summer Larry was given the ride of a lifetime when Hospice arranged for a ride in a 2016 through the Truck Center Companies of Omaha, NE. Larry also enjoyed all of the activities at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair, NE.

Survivors include his sister, Connie Carstens of Blair, NE; nieces Monica Carstens and fiancé Mike Woolman of Omaha, NE, and Tiffany Carstens of Omaha, NE; great-nieces Breanna Carstens and Jayda Cribbs of Omaha, NE; great-great-nephew Aidyn Coleman of Omaha, NE; aunt Bonnie Sorensen of Corona, CA. Numerous cousins also survive him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

Casket Bearers: Randy Spangler, Scott Sorensen, Mike Woolman, Brian Spangler, Dale Sorensen, Harold Benedict

Interment: Wisner Cemetery, Wisner, Nebraska

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for fellowship at the United Methodist Church of Christ fellowship hall following the interment.
