Orville Bensen

Services for Orville L. Bensen, 73, of Fremont, who died Monday, March 3, 1986, in Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont, were held Thursday, March 6, at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. Pastor Mark Grorud officiated and burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Bensen was born October 21, 1912, the son of Christian and Minnie Bensen of rural Blair. He grew up in rural Blair and lived there until 1940 when he moved to Arlington. In 1944 he came to Fremont.

Bensen married Lillie Ahlmeyer of Arlington, on June 16, 1934 in Glenwood, Iowa.

Benson was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Fremont and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 in Fremont.

He was employed at the Nebraska Ordinance plant at Mead and later at Valmont Industries. He retired in 1972.

Survivors include his wife of Fremont; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Jean) Kubr of Fremont; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph Jessen and Albert Bensen; and two sisters, Mabel Jessen and Alice Jensen.

Pallbearers were Roger Dahlkoetter, Dean Cook, Gary Hilgenkamp, Rollyn Hilgenkamp, James Bensen and Paul Hansen.

Organist was Mrs. Norma Moxness and soloist was Mrs. Sheryl Ebers.

Moser Memorial Chapel of Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
