Harold Fredrick Crom, 92, of El Dorado, Kan., died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at the Knudson Nursing Home in Eldorado, Kan.

Services were Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.

Harold Frederick Crom was born May 10, 1907 to Fred and Edna (Tedder) Crom in Walthill.

On Sept. 29, 1928, he married Elsie Pearl Payne. They lived and farmed in the Tekamah/Herman area and he also worked for the city of Tekamah for a number of years.

In 1966, he and his wife moved to Marshfield, Mo. for a short period of time. They returned back to Nebraska for a few years and he worked at the Pender Nursing Home in Pender. Upon their return to Missouri in 1970, he retired a few years later.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Edwin and Brenda Crom of El Dorado, Kan., Carl and Marion Crom of Belleville, Ill., Paul and Karen Crom of Marshfield, Mo., Allen and Geri Crom of Casselberry, Fla., and Terry and Fern Crom of El Dorado, Mo.; brothers and sisters-in-law Derald and Shirley Crom of Herman and Dick and Barbara Crom of Omaha; sister and brother-in-law, Jack and Pat Greives of Amenia, N. D.; brother-in-law, Howard Golden of Tekamah; sisters-in-law, Ruby Crom of Plattsmouth and Kate Crom of Omaha; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, who died April 16, 1986 of Parkinson’s Disease; an infant son, Lowell Gene; sisters, Helen Golden and Molly Sklenar; brothers, Robert, Floyd, and Donald; and a grandson, Kevin Lee Crom.

Hamel & Peck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
