Herman F. Crowell, 90, died Sept. 9, 1988 at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Herman Crowell was a longtime Omaha businessman and a Methodist leader. He was the president and treasurer of Crowell Elevator Company. He retired and liquidated the company in 1963, 94 years after it was founded by his grandfather, Christopher C. Crowell.

Mr. Crowell was a past treasurer of the Nebraska Methodist Conference and the Omaha Methodist Society. He was a board member at First Methodist Church, where he taught religious studies.

Mr. Crowell was a graduate of Central High School and Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Survivors include his sister, Mildred Chandler, Omaha; and nieces Marion J. Moritz and Jean Zoesch of Omaha, Alice Tickering, of Mitchell, South Dakota, and Geraldine Miller of Portland, Oregon. Surviving nephews are Earl H. Jorgensen, Tustin, California, and Robert F. Chandler of Houston, Texas.

Services for Mr. Crowell were held yesterday, Sept. 12, 1988, at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be established at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.
