J. P. CRUICKSHANK DIED IN DAKOTA

John P. Cruickshank, known to a number of Blair people, has died at his home at Golden Valley, North Dakota. He was 94 years old.

Mr. Cruickshank was related to some one-time Blair residents and made a number of trips here to visit. He had extensive land holdings in North Dakota and also in Texas and was reported to be wealthy. An enthusiastic visitor, he made friends quickly and carried on a salty and rapid-fire conversation.

In recent years he had worried his friends considerably because of his love to carry large sums of money and the pleasure he derived in telling about his extensive holdings. Born in Scotland, he was true to Scotch tradition of living frugally, which trait probably attributed to the fact that he was never victimized while traveling about the country. He was never married.
