Albert W. Krueger, 88 of Fremont died Saturday, June 14, 1997 at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Services were Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev, David Loeschen officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.

Kruger was born Sept. 24, 1908 on the family farm near Arlington to F. W. and Lena (Dunklaw) Kruger. He grew up on the farm. On Jan. 10, 1937, he married Verna L. Panning in the Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. They farmed north of Arlington until 1943, when they moved into Fremont. He worked for a time for Fairmont Foods and H.P. Lau Co., a wholesale grocery company. Most of his working years in Fremont, he was an insurance salesman for Aid Association for Lutherans. After his retirement, he worked in the Montgomery Ward store in downtown Fremont.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont and its Lutheran Laymen’s League.

Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Don and Deanna Kruger of Rockford, Ill.; a daughter, Joyce Meeker of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna, in October, 1992.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
