JaNelle A. Kruger, 59

JaNelle A. Kruger, 59, of rural Arlington died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, as the result of a motor vehicle accident south of West Point.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the First United Methodist Church, Fremont. Interment will be in Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

JaNelle A. Horrocks was born March 5, 1949, in Tilden to Clyde and Ethel (Sparr) Horrocks. She grew up on the farm near Meadow Grove and attended a rural school before graduating from Meadow Grove High School in 1967. She then attended Norfolk Junior College in Norfolk.

On July 30, 1989, she married John N. Kruger. They lived on a farm northwest of Arlington in the Telbasta area.

Mrs. Kruger has worked for the Fremont Public School system for the past 23 years, and was most recently a secretary in Fremont’s Middle School. Her life touched many while working with the children in school. Her family said JaNelle would want you to remember that laughter and good memories heal the heart.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fremont. Her life centered around the family and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Mike Ward of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sara and Fred Ness of rural Fremont; son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Jessica Kruger of Fort Dodge, Iowa; seven grandchildren; father, Clyde Horrocks of Norfolk; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Don Ohlrich of Norfolk and Jane and Tom Qualset of Central City.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a son, James Daniel Kruger; granddaughter, Madison JaNelle Ness; her mother, Ethel; and her husband’s parents, Norman and Marijo Kruger.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church and to the donor’s choice.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.

Arlington woman killed in accident

An Arlington woman was killed Thursday evening, Jan. 8, in a motor vehicle accident south of West Point.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, JaNelle Kruger, 59, of Arlington, was killed when the southbound vehicle she was driving collided with a northbound semi-trailer driven by Brian Thurmond, 44, of Oxly, Mo. Both individuals were wearing seat belts.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m., on State Highway 275, 5 miles south of West Point. The State Patrol responded to the accident, with assistance from the Cuming County Sheriff’s Department.

No other information is available at this time; and the accident is under investigation.
