Verna L. Kruger, 76

Services were held October 17 at the Trinity Lutheran Church for Verna L. Kruger, 76, who died Wednesday October 14 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Rev. Donald Levenhagen and Rev. David Loeschen officiated with burial in Memorial Cemetery.

Verna L. Panning was born December 29, 1915 to Ernest and Lydia Scheer Panning at Hooper, Nebraska and grew up on the family farm there.

She was married to Albert Kruger on January 10, 1937 at the home of the Rev. Ernest Echhardt of rural Hooper. They farmed 5 miles north of Arlington until 1943 when they moved into Fremont. Over the years, she had worked in several Fremont homes.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arlan.

She is survived by her husband, Albert; one son, Don Kruger of Rockford, Illinois; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Meeker of Wichita, Kansas; three grandchildren; one sister Zelma Panning of Fremont.

Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
