Gerald R. Kruse, 70

Services for Gerald Raymond Kruse, 70 of central Kansas City who died April 12, 1991 at Research Medical Center will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at the Speaks Midtown Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery.

Gerald Raymond Kruse was born in Nebraska and lived in Lamoni, Iowa before moving to the Kansas City area.

He received his bachelor’s degree in education from Dana College in Blair and his master’s degree in library science from Emporia State University.

He was a college librarian at Graceland College in Lamoni before becoming a medical librarian at Research Medical Center for 19 years. He retired in 1991.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the First Cavalry Association. He was a member and high priest at the Blue Ridge congregation at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Kruse of the home; two daughters, Linda Costlow and Mary Mackey of Raytown, Missouri; his mother, Clara Kruse of Elkhorn, Nebraska; two brothers, Walter Kruse, Herman and William Kruse of Bryan, Texas and four grandchildren.

Contributions may go to the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints temple or to the Dr. Carl Ferris Library at Research Medical Center.

Speaks Memorial Chapel, Inc. in Independence, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
