REMAINS OF HANS KRUSE INTERRED IN BLAIR CEMETERY

The funeral of the late Hans Kruse, of Omaha, formerly a well-known Cuming City resident, occurred Saturday at noon at the undertaking parlors of Swanson Brothers.

Thee funeral was in charge of the Omaha Plattedeutcher Verien and the Eagles lodge, for ritual work, and a most excellent sermon to the bereaved relatives and friends was given first in German, then in English by Rev. Lambrechet, of Blair. The choir of the Omaha Latter Day Saints church rendered "Nearer My Home" at the beginning of the services and after the German services, Mrs. J.P. Jensen sang in German one of Mr. Kruses's favorite songs, "Ruf 'Ich Dir Zu: Gut 'Nacht," which he had especially requested his only sister, Mrs. Walter Carter, to have sung at his funeral. The choir closed the services with the sons "Abide With Me" and this was sung by the trained singers of the choir and was most beautiful and touching.

The funeral party composed of thirty people, from a crowd of three hundred which filled the chapel to overflowing, accompanied the remains to Blair where nearly a hundred of his old German friends and neighbors met the train and went to the cemetery, where, after a short service by Rev. Lambrecht, the body was laid to rest beside his wife who died just four months ago.

Hans Kruse was born in Kiel, Germany, 56 years ago, spent most of his early life in Blair and vicinity and has been in business in Omaha on the corner of 16th and Webster street for thirty years. He leaves to mourn his death an only sister, Mrs. Walter Carter, of Blair, and a brother Fritz Kruse, of Herman. Mr. Kruse was owner of the Clifton hotel in Blair and was a frequent visitor here. Mr. Alex Rayburne, who has been in Mr. Kruse's employ for sixteen years, assisted the relatives in making the funeral arrangements.
