Ralph Pearce Died Christmas Day

Ralph Ray Pearce, retired farmer residing on east Jackson street, passed away at his home early Christmas morning. He was 70 years of age.

Mr. Pearce was born August 6, 1886, at Fairfax, Missouri and came to Washington county a number of years ago. He spent his life as a farmer, retiring a few years ago and moving to Blair.

Mr. and Mrs. Pearce were married at Clarinda, Iowa August 18, 1910.

Mr. Pearce is survived by his wife, Jennie Hannah and by three daughters and a son. The daughters are Mrs. Violet Moore and Mrs. Nadine Wulf, of Blair, Darlene Smith, of Omaha and the son is Donald Pearce, who is now stationed in Germany with the army.

A brother, Roy Pearce, resides in Oregon and there are two sisters, Mrs. Zeta Scoville, of Shambaugh, Iowa and Mrs. Roxie Gibson, of Gravity, Iowa.

There are fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at the First Christian church at 2:00 o’clock, Friday with the Rev. A. J. Hollingsworth conducting the service.

Burial, under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary, will be made in the Blair cemetery.

BLAIRITE SUCCUMBS CHRISTMAS DAY; RITES TO BE AT CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Ralph R. Pearce, 70, died suddenly on Christmas morning (Tuesday) at the family home on East Jackson St. The body was removed to the Campbell Mortuary.

The funeral, it is announced, will be held at the Christian Church at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Mr. Hollingsworth officiating.

Ralph Ray Pearce was born at Fairfax, Mo. August 6, 1886. He and Jennie Hannah Pearce were married August 18, 1910, at Clarinda, Ia.

Surviving are his wife, Jennie; one son, Donald, in the Army in Germany; and three daughters, Mrs. Dan Moore (Violet) of Blair, Mrs. James Wulf (Nadine) of Blair and Mrs. Darlene Smith of Omaha. There also are one brother, Roy Pearce of Oregon, and one sister, Mrs. Roxie Gibson, of Gravity, Ia. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
