Mrs. Wm. G. Cunningham, a pioneer of Washington County, passed away at her home Wednesday night, June 18 at 10:45 P.M. aged 84 years.

She was born in Millersburg, Ohio and when about seven years of age moved to Scott County, Iowa, and later moved to Nebraska.

She married May 26, 1864, to Wm. G. Cunningham in Omaha in what was known as the Alonzo Perkins hotel and four years later she with her husband took an eighty acre homestead just south of Kennard and also purchased a 160 acre tract adjoining. Here they lived until 1892 when they moved to Blair where they have since resided.

The husband died April 20, 1920 and the aged wife with one son, Frank continued to keep the home.

In all five children, Mrs. Mamie Stewart, of Charleston, Nebraska; Charles D. of Kennard; Frank W. of Blair; Otto A., of Kennard and Mrs. Emma A. Bates, of Texas County, Mo. survive besides twelve great-grandchildren. All the children are present and will be in attendance at the funeral services which is to be held on next Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home with Rev. Camp officiating.

Mrs. W. G. Cunningham passed away at 10:45 last Wednesday evening, following an illness of several months duration from an ulcer or cancer of the stomach. She was conscious up until almost the last minute her soul and body were together, but was too weak to talk to the children, all of whom were present when the end came. The funeral was held at the family home on west Colfax Street at 2 o’clock, Rev. L. H. Camp officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery by the side of her husband, whose death occurred April 20, 1920. She was born in Millersburg, Ohio, June 4th, 1840, so was just past 84 years of age. When she was 7 years of age the family moved to Scott County, Iowa, and later to Nebraska. She was married to W. G. Cunningham in Omaha in what was known as the Alonzo Perkins hotel on May 26th, 1864, and four years later they took a homestead just south of Kennard, also purchased 160 acres adjoining, which was their home until 1892 when they moved to this city. She is survived by five children: Mamie, Mrs. J. A. Stewart, of Charleston, Neb., Charles C. of Kennard, Frank W. of Blair, Otto A., of Kennard, and Emma, Mrs. E. E. Bates, of Texas County, Mo. Mrs. Cunningham was a member of the Christian church and lived a faithful and consistent Christian life. The bereaved children have the sincere sympathy of many friends.
