W. CUNNINGHAM TO BE BURIED ON THURSDAY

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 19, at 1:30 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church for William M. Cunningham, 82, who died suddenly early Monday morning, February 16, 1981, at Memorial Hospital in Fremont. Rev. Leo R. Nielsen will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

William M. Cunningham was born December 26, 1898, at Kennard to Charles C. and Ethel Robertson Cunningham. He married Matilda Carlsen at her mother’s home in Kennard on August 22, 1923.

He worked for the Home State Bank in Kennard before turning to farming. They farmed in the Kennard area until 1942 when they moved to their present home north of Fontanelle. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle.

He is survived by his wife, Matilda, of Fontanelle; and three sons, Russell Cunningham and Rolland Cunningham, both of Fontanelle; and Luverne Cunningham of Columbus, Ohio. A twin sister, Mrs. Marine Softley, Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews also survive him.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements for the services.
