KENNARD DEPOT AGENT FOUND DEAD IN STATION

Edward F. Cushman Chicago & North Western railway agent at Kennard for the past twelve years, was found dead on the floor of the Kennard depot at 9:30 Wednesday morning, death resulting from an apoplectic stroke. The body was discovered by Mr. Ward, a grocer, who came to the depot to transact business.

Mr. Cushman had been dead less than five minutes when the discovery was made. Five minutes before he had been in communication with the depot at Arlington by wire. He was the only person employed at the depot and was alone at the time. As Mr. Ward approached the building he glanced in the window and saw the man had fallen, but when the body did not move he ran into the station and found that Cushman was dead. He immediately called a physician who pronounced death due to apoplexy.

Mr. Cushman had been in the service of the Chicago & North Western railway twenty-two years, entering the service in 1902. For a long time he was located at Anoka and about twelve years ago was transferred to Kennard.

He was about 56 years of age. During his long service with the railway he made a very good record and had many close friends in Kennard and vicinity during his lengthy residence there.

The remains will be taken to Tilden for burial.

His wife and several children survive him.
