Funeral services for Clyde Aten of Blair, who died Thursday, November 2, 1989 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha after suffering a stroke at his home were held Saturday, November 4 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.

Clyde Aten was born June 28, 1916 at Ragan, Nebraska to L.C. and Ora Salmon Aten. He attended school at Ragan, Nebraska.

On June 8, 1941, he married Gwen Johnson at Nickerson, Nebraska. They moved to Long Pine, Nebraska where he operated a garage until 1950 at which time they moved to Blair. In Blair, he operated the Aten Service Station and later worked for the Foxly Cattle Company until his retirement.

He was a member of First Christian Church, the Weego Campers Club and the Blair Odd Fellows.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen; five children, David Lee Aten, Hayward, California; Daniel Clyde Aten, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Janice Kay Feeley, Fremont, California; Jeneane Carol Wise, Grand Blanc, Michigan; and Duane E. Aten, San Francisco, California. Nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Irene VanDeusen, Fremont; Marge Gaines, Union City, California; Virginia Lightner, National City, California; Betty Olson, Lincoln; Shirley Kelly, Omaha; and Doris Falk, Chicago, Illinois; and two brothers, Lloyd Aten, Yankton, South Dakota; and Wayne Aten of Goodland, Kansas, also survive him.

Arrangements were handled by Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

BLAIR - - J. Clyde Aten, 73, of Blair, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 1989, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Mr. Aten was born June 28, 1916, in Ragan. He lived in Long Pine where he operated a garage until 1950. He then moved to Blair where he operated Aten Service Station and later worked for the Foxley Cattle Co. until his retirement.

He was a member of First Christian Church, the Weego Campers Club and the Blair Odd Fellows.

He married Gwendolyn Johnson June 8, 1941, in Nickerson. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, David of Hayward, Calif., Daniel of Santa Fe, and Duane of San Francisco; two daughters, Janice Feeley of Fremont, Calif., and Jeneane Wise of Grand Blanc, Mich.; six sisters, Irene VanDeusen of Fremont, Betty Olsen of Lincoln, Shirley Kelley of Omaha, Marge Gaines of Union City, Calif., Virginia Lightner of National City, Calif., and Doris Falk of Chicago; two brothers, Lloyd of Yankton, S.D., and Wayne of Goodland, Kan.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Nov 4 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.
