Merle Meyer age 56 of Herman died September 19, 2015, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Following Mr. Meyer’s request no services will be held.

Merle Meyer was born on March 27, 1959, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Donald and Reta Meyer. He was raised in Herman and graduated from Tekamah-Herman High School in 1977. After high school he worked as a mechanic and welder and was employed with Con-E-Co for 22 years. In 1992 he was united in marriage to LeAnn Holderness in Tekamah. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He also enjoyed “tinkering” in woodworking, building bird houses and bird feeders.

He especially enjoyed spending his time surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife LeAnn; son Lucas and wife Andrea of Onawa, Iowa; mother Reta Meyer of Tekamah; sisters Shari Widener of Tekamah, Melanie Pickell and husband Dick of Craig, Rita Carson and husband Tim of Onawa, Iowa; and grandson Trey.

He is preceded in death by his father Donald Meyer, and brother Donald Meyer Jr.
