Harold Laaker, the fourteen-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Laaker of Arlington, died in an Omaha hospital Friday, following an operation for appendicitis. The boy had been in usual health until the Wednesday previous, when it was discovered that an operation was necessary. The funeral services were held at Arlington Monday, Chas. Beckman and wife, Mrs. Esplin, and John Moore and wife driving over to attend. A number of others from Blair stated but were obliged to turn back on account of the rain. The young man was a nephew of Guy Wilson of the P.Z. store of Blair.

Harold J. Laaker, buried in Arlington Cemetery, born April 11 , 1906 – died June 21, 1918. (This would make him 12 years of age, instead of 14 as mentioned in the above obituary)
