SERVICES HELD IN HOLDREGE FOR ORA ATEN

Funeral services were held Monday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Holdrege for Mrs. Ora Aten, 94, who died Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 1981, at Arbor Manor Nursing Home in Fremont. Burial was in Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Ora Aten was born Ora Salmon on January 26, 1887, in Ragan. She married Leslie C. Aten on September 22, 1904, in Harlan County. He died in Holdrege in 1966.

A retired homemaker, she lived in Holdrege before moving to Fremont. She had been ill for about six years and had lived in Arbor Manor since 1978.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Holdrege.

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Marjorie) Gaines, formerly of Blair and now of Union City, California; Mrs. Irene VanDeusen, Fremont; Mrs. Leonard (Virginia) Lightner, National City, California; Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Kelley, Gering, Nebraska; Mrs. Robert K. (Betty) Olsen, Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. Robert (Doris) Falk, Zaire, Africa; and four sons, Clyde Aten, Blair; Wayne Aten, Grant, Nebraska; Lloyd Aten, Yankton, South Dakota; and Roy Aten, Atkinson, Nebraska. Thirty-six grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also survive her.

Bader-Rozanek Colonial Funeral Home in Fremont was in charge of arrangements for the services.
