Dorothy Kuhl, 79, of Blair, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 12.

Dorothy M. (Jessen) Kuhl was born May 25, 1923 in Blair to Jens Joseph and Edith Marie (Wein) Jessen. She attended elementary school in rural Washington County and graduated from Blair High School in 1940.

On March 15, 1942, she married Herbert Niels Hansen. The couple farmed in rural Blair. Mr. Hansen died in November 1970, and Mrs. Hansen moved to Blair in 1974. Mrs. Hansen went to work for Klopp Jewelry in 1971 and worked until her retirement in 1994.

In October, 1983, she married William Kuhl; he preceded her in death in June, 1996.

Mrs. Kuhl was a member of the Merry Makes Extension Club and the Bell Creek Sewing Club.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Judy Hansen of Blair, and Steve and Carol Hansen of Omaha; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela Boyd of Tacoma, Wash., and Joan and Russ Christensen of Fort Calhoun; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Thompson of Blair, Gloria and Leon Kuhr of Lakewood, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Audrey Jessen of Blair, and Laura and Bill Powers of Omaha; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Jessen.

Memorials are suggested to Crowell Home.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
