EDYTH ATWOOD, 94

Edyth Atwood, 94, of Blair, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Crowell Home in Blair.

Services were Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at First Christian Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Edyth Atwood was born March 28, 1905, to William and LaVinia Abigail (Rosenbaum) Hovendick in rural Herman. She graduated from the Capitol Beauty School in Omaha in 1931.

On Dec. 31, 1934, she married Roy Atwood in Iowa. She operated a beauty shop alongside her husband’s barber shop in Blair for 30 years.

She was a member of the Blair Eastern Star and the First Christian Church.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Carla Hovendick of Herman; and nieces and nephews, Viola (Toots) Morgan of Phoenix, Ariz., LaVinia Shelton of Tyler, Texas, Ruby Holstein of Kansas City, Mo., Francis Beard of Lyons, Donna Marvin of Omaha, Stanley Hovendick of Lander, Wyo., and David Hovendick of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1956.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church Building Fund.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
