J. A. Kuhn, Photographer, Is Death Victim

In Photography Business in Blair For Twenty-Six Years

John A. Kuhn, Blair’s veteran photographer, passed away Monday morning, at 12:30 o’clock. He died suddenly and the attributing cause was heart trouble from which he had suffered for some time. He had been ill for about two months but was supposed to have improved but the sudden attack was too much for him.

Deceased was born January 6, 1871 in Eddyville, Pennsylvania and was thus past 69 years of age at his death. He was married to Miss Lucy E. Jones on September 24, 1896 at Brookville, Pennsylvania and soon after they came to Nebraska settling at Walthill and later taking a homestead in South Dakota.

On September 1, 1914 they came to Blair and went into the photography business which they have followed since that time and in which business he has gained the respect of not only the citizens of Blair but of the entire county with whom he has come in contact. Besides the wife he leaves one brother and four sisters. One sister resides in Cleveland, Ohio and the other three sisters and brother reside in Brookville.

He was a member of the I. O. O. F. and of the K. P. organizations and was a willing worker.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Bendorf Funeral Home and the body was taken to his old home in Pennsylvania for interment which will probably be made Saturday. Mrs Kuhn accompanied by a niece, Mrs. Jerry Hlava of Omaha made the trip to Pennsylvania to be present at the funeral rites.

Note: Since the actual death date was not given, the news article date was used.
