Ray Kundel, 88

Services for Ray Kundel, 88, of Blair, who died at his home March 5, 1994 will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 11 at the Minden United Church of Christ (Congregational) at Minden, Iowa. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. Visitation will begin 9 a.m. Thursday, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Ray Kundel was born April 19, 1905 at Minden to Ernest and Magdalena Rohlfs Kundel. He attended school at Minden and graduated from Minden High School.

He owned and operated a gas transport business and also was engaged in farming and a fertilizer business since 1960 in Minden, Iowa. He moved to Blair in July, 1984.

In 1929, he married Pearl Ivers. She preceded him in death in December of 1989.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Tewes and Gus Kundel.

He is survived by four daughters, Dr. Carolyn Kundel, Roland, Iowa; Dr. Dorothy (Mrs. Roger) Olson, Blair; Bonnie (Mrs. Art) Boltz, Jiangling, Hubei, China and Lavonne (Mrs. Roger) Olsen, Council Bluffs, Iowa; five sons, Dr. Robert Kundel, Chamberlain, South Dakota; Dr. Don Kundel and Dr. Ray Kundel, both of Duluth, Minnesota; Dr. Richard Kundel, Center Point, Iowa, and Dr. David Kundel, Mitchell, South Dakota; 23 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Helen Luchsinger and Wilma Best, both of Shelby, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to Minden United Church of Christ, Minden, Iowa or Dana College.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
