Services for Esther Alvina Olson, 91, formerly of Divide County, North Dakota, who died October 12, 1995 in a Minot hospital were Monday, October 16 in Stakston-Martin Funeral Chapel in Crosby. Burial was in the Daneville Lutheran Cemetery in rural Westby, Montana.

Esther Olson was born May 21, 1904 in Washington County, Nebraska to Louis and Gertha Christensen. She moved with her parents to Daneville Township in North Dakota in April, 1907. She grew up on the homestead in Daneville Township and attended grade school in the area.

She was confirmed in Daneville Lutheran Church, was a member of Luther League and a Sewing Circle.

She worked as a hired girl. As a young woman, she moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where she worked as a housemaid.

She married Kai Olson in Iowa. After he died several years later, she returned to North Dakota in 1936, living in several towns until entering the nursing home in Stanley in June of 1982.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by two sisterz, Lydia Howe, Crosby; and Ethel Swartz, Plentywood; two brothers, Elif and Clarence, both of Crosby and many nieces and nephews.
