GAIL “PAT” LEAVER, 65

Gail “Pat” Leaver, 65, died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 4, 2004, at her home in Fremont.

Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 8 at the First Lutheran Church in Fremont, with the Rev. Mark Grorud officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery near Leshara.

Gail Leaver was born March 16, 1939 in Omaha to Lloyd and Florence (Kemp) Pflug. She grew up in the Valley area, where she received her education and graduated from Valley High School in 1957.

On Oct. 25, 1958, she married Jerry Leaver in the Baptist-Presbyterian Church in Valley.

While she was a homemaker while her children were growing up, the Leavers later owned and operated the Two Rivers concession in the Two Rivers State Park from 1975 until 1982. In 1986, the couple moved to Fremont, where they owned “Accents on 6th Street,” a gift shop located in downtown Fremont, for several years.

Mrs. Leaver was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fremont.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Mary Beth Leaver of Arlington, and Cory and Deanna Leaver of Stanton; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and James Nolan of Fremont; 10 grandchildren; sister, Linda Pflug of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Eileen Pflug of Golden, Colo.; special friends, Elton and Marla Peterson of Waterloo; Herman and Darlene Lambrecht of Valley, Bob and Joann Willmer of Rogers, Ark., and Sharron Flynn of Valley; sister-in-law and husband, Donna and Ty Franzen of Elkhorn; brother-in-law and wife, Kevin and Linda Leaver of Omaha; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Pflug.

Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice Program and to the First Lutheran Church.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
