Margaret M. Wrich Kunnemann

Margaret Marie Wrich Kunnemann, 95, Blair, died on Aug. 10 after a long illness.

Margaret Kunnemann was born on Dec. 26, 1893 in rural Kennard as the daughter of Claus and Mary Wrich. She spent her entire life in Washington County and attended rural school through the eighth grade while she lived on the farm.

Margaret Wrich Kunnemann was united in marriage to John Kunnemann of Elkhorn on Feb. 17, 1915. The Kunnemann’s had one daughter.

Mrs. Kunnemann lived and farmed with her husband just south of Kennard for over 50 years. In 1965 the Kunnemanns celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. After the death of her husband Margaret moved to Arlington and the past three years she had been a resident at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Margaret Wrich Kunnemann was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Bennington. She was an avid outdoor person and enjoyed gardening, milking cows, and helping with the farming.

Margaret Kunnemann was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ruby and Donald Cain of Arlington; three grandchildren, Robert Cain, Dakota City; Lori Steffensmeier, Snyder; Pat Cain, Fremont; and three great-grandchildren, Krisina, Michael and Bradley Cain; and several nieces and nephews.
